About Parks & Recreation

Letter from the Director

Welcome to North Huntingdon Township's Department of Parks and Recreation!

You're invited to take part in utilizing our facilities and activities that boasts affordable family fun.

Whether you are just visiting or a lifelong resident, you will find that our township parks offer amenities for one and all to enjoy. From youth to senior citizens, you can experience first rate athletic fields, safe playgrounds, well maintained pavilions and park grounds, hiking and nature trails, a treasured scenic waterfall, stocked fishing lakes and many other fantastic features that we hope you find relaxing and enjoyable.

Our full-time staff is responsible for the day to day operations of facilities, grounds, and maintenance to 11 parks located within the Township. Assistance is also provided for special events and recreational activities. On-going training and education also allows us to meet and / or exceed the responsibilities of keeping our parks the envy of Westmoreland County.

On behalf of myself and our entire staff, we're proud to serve your recreational needs.  After all, one of the best kept secret's to a healthy lifestyle is that...It Starts In Parks!

- Dan Miller, Director
